IWI works not only with inventors seeking manufacturers for new inventions, but also with manufacturers looking for new inventions, invention companies looking for new products as well as companies seeking new product ideas — especially green inventions and green products through the organization's Green2Gold green inventing initiative.

The vision and mission of the organization is threefold:

  1. To provide honest counsel and the highest caliber educational services and tools to support inventors in the protection, development and realization of their creative ideas;
  2. To stimulate, through inventors and entrepreneurs, the development of innovative and imaginative products; and
  3. To promote the development of products that deliver environmental advantages, health, safety and socially responsible benefits.

IWI inventors have become a highly regarded R&D resource for companies seeking innovative new product ideas and competitive advantage in the marketplace.  A wide range of companies — from Nordic Track and Home Depot to the Sharper Image and Wal-Mart — have marketed products invented by IWI inventors.
